10:58 a.m. A person reported found property on Old Woman Springs Road.

9:53 a.m. A person was arrested on a weapon charge on Clark Road.

4:40 a.m. A call came in for a dead body in the 9800 block of Mesa Road. (The body was a person killed in a house fire. See news article in this week's Leader newspaper).

Farm Watch helps stop crime

When Chuck Bell had some farm equipment stolen a while back, he turned to Deputy Kristie Dougan, a member of the county's Rural Crimes Task Force.

Dougan investigated the theft and using her skill and investigation techniques eventually recovered Bell's property.

Last Tuesday, Dougan shared the current state of rural crimes and how Lucerne Valley farmers and ranchers can protect themselves from increasingly brazen thieves during the monthly meeting of the Lucerne Valley Economic Development Association.

Two vehicles were reported stolen and two properties were burglarized in Lucerne Valley from the period of Feb. 17 through Feb. 23, according to information provided by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
