11:33 p.m. The fire department was called to a residence on Laramie Street.

4:34 p.m. A pedestrian check was performed in the area of Highway 18 and Haven Rest Road.

2:31 p.m. A person was reported to have brandished a weapon in the 31800 block of Highway 18.

1:44 p.m. A Banta Road resident reported a theft.

12:34 p.m. A drug-related arrest was made in the area of Carnelian Road and Pitzer Buttes Road.

5:43 p.m. A burglary was reported in the 35800 block of Old Woman Springs Road.

9:02 a.m. A vehicle burglary was reported in the 9000 block of Mesa Road.

Sunday, Dec. 27

3:37 p.m. A drug related arrest was made in the area of Highway 18 and Highland Road.

LUCERNE VALLEY — While some major crimes are going down, thefts and other lesser crimes are creeping upward in Lucerne Valley and surrounding areas.

"I'm imagining the numbers will go up in 2015," said Sgt. Lonnie Siebert of the Lucerne Valley Substation and the Rural Crimes Task Force.

Crime Prevention: 'Refuse to be a Victim'

LUCERNE VALLEY — With the area's theft rate inching higher, residents must do everything they can to prevent becoming a victim.

Last Tuesday, Mike Ward of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department gave a "Refuse To Be A Victim" presentation at the monthly meeting of the Lucerne Valley Economic Development Association. Initially designed for seniors, the presentation has been expanded and soon county employees will receive the training.

Ward began with a story of two ninjas and a ninja master.

11:35 p.m. A missing person was reported in the 8600 block of Fairlane Road.

8:03 a.m. Illegal dumping was reported in the area of Donaldson Road and Foothill Road.

2:26 a.m. A domestic battery arrest was made in the 9600 block of Palomar Trail.
