Sgt. Van Putnam of the Lucerne Valley Sheriff Substation presented last month’s crime statistics at the recent meeting of the Lucerne Valley-Johnson Valley Municipal Advisory Council. The following are the numbers:
Calls for service: 446
Grand theft auto: 5
Assaults: 6
Possession of stolen property: 2
Narcotics arrests: 8
Burglaries: 10
Arrests for under the influence: 3

Tuesday, Sept. 23
9:23 p.m. Disturbing the peace was reported in the 10000 block of Baker Road.
6:11 p.m. A disturbing the peace situation was reported in the 30000 block of Zircon Road.
5:32 p.m. Trespassing was reported in the 30000 area of Carnelian Road.
3:49 p.m. A burglary was reported in the 10000 block of Alamo Street.
12:38 p.m. A petty theft arrest was made in the 32000 block of Highway 18.
11:31 p.m. A Chickasaw Trail resident reported credit fraud.

Lucerne Valley sweep also gets drugs, weapons and rattlesnakes

LUCERNE VALLEY • The San Bernardino County Probation Department, along with the Sheriff’s Department, conducted a probation compliance operation from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday in Lucerne Valley.

Nine people were arrested, including five adult probationers and four people not under supervision who were found to have warrants or be in violation of the law.

11:46 p.m. A warrant was served in the 9700 block of Cody Avenue. The subject was gone on arrival.
8:41 p.m. Shots were heard in the 32000 block of State Highway 18. Deputies were unable to locate the source of the apparent gunfire.
11:35 a.m. A theft was reported in the 32000 area of Zircon Road. Apparently it was a civil matter.
10:05 a.m. A theft was reported in the 1600 block of Highway 18. The subject was gone on arrival.

Monday, Sept. 8
10:59 a.m. An arrest warrant was served in the 10500 block of Medanos Avenue.

DUI WARRANT: On Sept. 3 at 9:10 a.m., 52-year-old Craig Albert Sherwood of Lucerne Valley was arrest on a $25,000 warrant for being under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He was booked and released later the same day.

CHILD ENDANGERMENT: On Aug. 27 at 7:35 p.m., 38-year-old Ronald William Mills of Lucerne Valley was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment and animal cruelty. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center and bail was set at $25,000.
