A man accused of stealing an estimated $16,000 worth of cash, jewelry and guns from a Lucerne Valley home was arrested in Hesperia last week, sheriff’s documents show.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s detectives and deputies arrested 45-year-old Jeffrey Eugene Smith without incident at his home in the 10700 block of Redwood Avenue in Hesperia on Nov. 29.

Smith was being held at the Victor Valley Jail on $250,000 bail for felony charges of burglary and sale of stolen property along with a no-bail warrant related to a charge of corporal injury of a child.

Smith is accused of entering a home on Palomar Avenue in the area of Highway 247 in Lucerne Valley on Nov. 2 and stealing guns along with a small safe containing jewelry and $12,000 cash, according to Joaquin Guajardo, the victim’s son.
