Teens accused of attempted school break-in

LUCERNE VALLEY • Two teens were recently arrested on suspicion of trying to break into Lucerne Valley Elementary School.

According to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department records, a deputy responded to an alarm at the school at 12:56 a.m. on July 27.

Ruben Chris Fontes, 18, was arrested and booked on suspicion of attempted burglary. A 17-year-old male, whose name was not released, was cited on suspicion of attempted burglary and released to his parents.
