VICTORVILLE • The two men who attempted to rob Lucerne Valley Liquor in December have taken plea bargains and will be sentenced on Thursday.
Phillip Brown, who entered the store with a gun and demanded money, was shot twice by Gus Tarrab of Lucerne Valley Liquor on the night of Dec. 22.
Brown fled the scene with accomplice Robert Kerns and later turned himself in after seeking medical aid in the Los Angeles area.
Kerns was found in Arizona.
Both men will serve prison terms, but specifics of the plea deals were not available from the district attorney’s office as of press time on Monday.
Kerns, who carried a bag and accompanied Brown into the store, is expected to receive a lighter sentence than Brown.
Brown’s sentence will be longer because he used a gun and was on probation for prior offenses, according to DA officials.
